I miss my little sister like crazy right now.
Julie I swear it’s so hard to bear it and I’d never make it through without you around
How I found out about Fountains of Wayne is actually a funny story. Sort of. My sister was turning 16 five years ago and I wanted to do something special for her: so I made her a mix CD (we still listened to CDs in 2008 I guess)! And I had to find a song with her name in it. I couldn’t think of any song I knew so I googled it and that’s how I first listened to Hey Julie. Boring desk job and obvious romantic relationship aside, this song actually works for my sister and me. Jules is the best and I love her to pieces and whenever I’m having a bad day, she makes it better when she’s around. So, I guess Hey Jude would have worked too. Oh, and my mom told me David Bowie had a song called “Julie“…
Does that make me old? Happy Birthday Jules!!!
Grace Kelly as Lisa Fremont in Rear Window [1954]
In support of my sister who I’m sure will nail her presentation on Rear Window’s opening sequence today, I re-blog this perfection of a Gifset.
I’m so proud of my little sister who started her internship this week. She writes fashion articles and she’s goddamn good at it!

My sister and I had those when my folks were in Finland and we were so into Smash, back in July. Try them. Try Smash. And try Finland, my folks would say!
Pour about 3 cups sweet corn in a bowl. Add an egg, 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon grated cheese (like Emmental), a pinch of salt, and a pinch of freshly ground pepper. Stir to combine. Heat 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the oil, spaced a few inches apart. Cook until golden on the bottom, 1 to 2 minutes. Using a spatula, turn fritter over, and cook until golden on the other side. Repeat the process with the rest of the batter, using the remaining oil for pan. Serve immediately with or without low-fat cream beaten with chopped chives and salad.
I just opened up to my little sista about something. Something I’ve meant to tell her for awhile, but couldn’t bring myself to because it’s actually kinda silly. But I told her and she said it was no BD. I adore my sister, I often tell her she’s my favorite, even if she’s the onlyy sister I have. We get each other and we always have fun together. God, I’m gonna miss her…
Greetings from Lille where my sister and I are having a fabulous time!!!
Disneyland.
My Sister and I went to Disneyland yesterday and it was awesome -except for the fact we didn’t ride the Indiana Jones roller coaster. But we had so much fun, I literally passed out last night. This is how tired I was. Can’t wait to go on our little getaway on Friday, my sis is the best!
Oh, and check out that dude’s Dragon Tattoo on the fisrt picture. Sorry for tagging TGWTDT, it just also works with ‘Guy’!!!
Turning 25.
Turning 25 has been pretty rad actually. And sort of ridiculous too: It’s been like a three-days celebration; and it’s not over yet!
It all started on Thursday: it was my atual birthday and my parents and sister took me out to dinner to a fancy place. The food was good, the wine was delicious and my folks were in a good mood, so I was actually having a good time. Then, a waiter brought me this (left picture) for dessert because he casually heard my father mention it was my birthday! Wow, how nice! But a bigger surprise came with the check: I dined at that fancy place for free!!! Can you belive that?!
Then, Saturday came and my girls with it!!! I had a great time with my besties, we had such a great time they left at 4:00am!!! We talked and laughed and ate. And we ate this wonderfully colorful cake (right picture) which, I’m proud to say, I made. When we cut it, I realized it had the colors of the pansexual pride flag; which is absolutely relevant because 1) I am pansexual and 2) I was born on June 28 and everyone knows (or should know) about June 28, 1969*.
*June 28, 1969 is when the Stonewall riots started, the first time where gays and lesbians and bisexuals and transgender people fought back after a police raid. And police raids against homosexuals resulted in violences, persecutions and arrestations back then.
Today, we had a delicious meal of pork tenderloin with barbecue sauce, sweet potatoes and corn on the cob, some more of my pansexual pride cake for dessert; and I got a sparkly Swarowski necklace from my folks and a sparkly bag from Jul. And I will be there (last picture), at Disneyland tomorrow. Well, I love being 25 evetually!!!
Now, a very important question: I’ve blown candles three times these past few days. It means my wish (same wish the three times) HAS to come true, right?
Because, yep, it’s my Birthday: I’m officially 25!!!!
My Dad wit my sister Jul and I, in 1993 (seems I love my 1993 self!). Happy Father’s Day!
