So, I still haven’t been able to caught up with Grey’s Anatomy yet. (Or Gossip Girl, or Glee, for what matters). I’m not quite over The Hunger Games -which I saw yesterday, and was fantastic- yet either. I’ve been busy today, and when I had a couple of hours to myself I watched A Nightmare on Elm Street (bad movie, Kyle Gallner was good, Rooney Mara was great). Honestly, I didn’t dislike the movie -I’ve seen far worse- because of them. That is how you recognize genuine talent, I guess. Actors are good even if they’re not given the material they deserve. I kinda have a soft sport for Kyle Gallner since his Veronica Mars days, even if he always seems to get the troubled young boy part. And you know, I have the softest spot for Rooney Mara, because she is flawless and… Wait, this has nothing to do with that great song.
Drifting Further Away by Powderfinger, can be heard in one of the best episode of Grey’s Anatomy. One that made me sob like a five-year-old (you know, when you’re out of breath) and made me love Meredith Grey forever. That’s the episode with Eric Soltz as the death-row inmate patient of Meredith, Christina and Derek, and with Derek’s Mom (Tyne Daly!!!) too. The song is heard when Meredith attends his execution and then can’t help sobbing like a five-year-old. That’s also the episode where Derek’s Mom gives him the ring to propose to Mer. And this song might be sad, but I think not a day goes by without me listening to it. It’s beautiful.
My sister told me that I developped a new (annoying) skill, which is that I can bring up Rooney Mara’s name into any conversation! She seems to be right.
