Other Bedtime Thoughts

There is plenty on my mind tonight…

First, I can’t understand what happened to that “38-year-old unidentified, married with two children, veteran United States Army Staff Sergeant” who killed at least sixteen civilians, including nine children, leaving five other civilians wounded in the villages of Alkozai and Najeeban in Afghanistan. War is terrible, terrorism is even worse and being a soldier there is beyond what we can imagine but nothing, nothing on earth can explain such a horrible action.

 

Today is Liza-with-a-Z’s Birthday. The New York, New York singer is 66.

 

Today is also Mitt Romney’s Birthday. He’s 65. Seems like it’s a good year for him so far.

 

Well, while we’re at it, March 12th also saw the birth of Jack Kerouac in 1922 and the death of Charlie “Bird” Parker in 1955.

 

I miss Gossip Girl badly but I cant bear to see Dan being the week’s McAsshole. Every. Single. Week. Team Serena, if you ask me.

 

Oh, how I wish I could be a guest at one of those fancy dinners Truman Capote hosted. With Babe Paley sitting on my right and Harper Lee on my left, we’d glamorously laugh at something witty Bennett Cerf would say, and maybe even applaud with our gloved hands.

 

The two most beautiful dresses at the Oscars were custom-made by Givenchy and Alexander McQueen for Rooney Mara and Jessica Chastain respectively.

 

Whenever Lisbeth enters a room saying “Hey, hey!”, the man she’s looking for is in trouble ( SPOILER: having a cerebral hemorrhage or being tortured by a killer). When she just says “Hey!”, the man she’s talking to is in trouble too though; the Girl has a hell of a swing!

 

How sick is it, on a scale from 0 to 100, to want to see that movie again? I’m supposed to love movies. Plural. Right now, I can only think about one.

Bill Gates, people call you a genius. Ever thought of building a time machine? I really want to dine with Truman Capote. Preferbly while he was writing In Cold Blood.

 

Hey! In that wonderful movie (I can think of another movie after all!!!), Infamous with the incredibly talented –but sadly underrated Toby Jones, about the killings in Holcomb (KS) , and subsequent writing of In Cold Blood; Daniel Craig played Perry Smith and he was absolutely terrific. It’s a small world!
